Respected artist Barry John MBE – a former soldier and professional painter who was awarded the MBE for his work in the field of art, community and mental health, started painting when he was a soldier, and his military travels have significantly shaped his work.

John paints in a variety of styles; equally at home producing figurative work or bold abstracts.

John founded and runs the VC Gallery, in Haverfordwest, where he works to bring army veterans and the community together through art. Anyone is welcome to drop into the gallery and try their hand at creating art. VC stands for Veterans and the Community, and the charity is renowned for its work in fighting social exclusion.
